Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

Nitrous oxide is a colorless gas which you breathe and has been a means of sedation in dentistry for many years.  The patient is able to breathe naturally and is conscious.  The depth of sedation can be altered to increase or decrease the level of sedation.  It is safe and at the end of the appointment, simply breathing oxygen reverses the feelings of sedation.
