If you contact us after hours, leave a message and we’ll get back to you promptly. We understand unexpected delays may happen, but we value your time and strive to stay on schedule.
For emergencies, reach out right away, and we’ll do our best to see you the same day. Remember, if you can’t make your appointment, kindly give us 24 hours notice.

Your first visit is an essential step toward achieving optimal dental health. We suggest a comprehensive exam to understand your medical history, address any concerns, and provide individualized care. Your Child’s First Visit
At Smoky Mountain Dentistry, we make your child’s first dental visit fun and easy while introducing them to our office. We understand that dental visits can be scary for kids and adults alike, so creating a positive first experience is key. Each child is unique, so we personalize their first appointment to suit their needs. This initial visit allows our dentist to assess your child’s dental health and, if needed, recommend a pediatric dentist.
Tips for Parents
Tip #1
Be positive when speaking to your child about going to the dentist!
Encourage your child with positivity when discussing dental visits. Share the oral health benefits and your own positive experiences with the dentist, focusing on how they’ve helped you in the past. Avoid using going to the dentist as a punishment if your child faces challenges with their oral health routine.
Tip #2
Read books about going to the dentist!
One way to ease fear and foster a love for dental care from an early age is to read fun books about going to the dentist. Some great books are “The Berenstain Bears Visit the Dentist” by Stan and Jan Berenstain, “Show Me Your Smile!” By Christine Ricci, and “Just Going to the Dentist” by Mercer Mayer.

Parents, when chatting with your little ones about dental visits, consider swapping out words like “hurt,” “shot,” or “drill” for more soothing alternatives. Opt for terms that promote calm and comfort, like “discomfort,” “medicine to help you feel better,” or “special dental tools.”

When you visit us for the first time, share your insurance details, and our staff will happily handle the insurance filing process for you. We want to make it as easy as possible for you. It’s important to note that any expenses not covered by your plan are your responsibility to pay at the time of treatment.
It’s essential to understand that our office doesn’t have a direct relationship with your insurance company. The benefits of your insurance are determined by the plan you or your employer have chosen. This means that we don’t have a say in selecting your insurance company, don’t control the terms of your contract, and aren’t involved in the determination of your insurance benefits.

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept the following forms of payment:

Smoky Mountain Dentistry Wellness Club
Provides exclusive savings on procedures. Benefits start immediately and membership runs for 12 months from the date you join. There are no deductibles, waiting periods, annual maximums, denials of claims, or preapprovals.
